Thesis dissertation

The final assessment (thesis dissertation) is the presentation and discussion of the project-work. In order to be admitted to the final exam, students must be in good standing with the payment of the registration fee and submit and, at least 30 days before the final discussion, they must submit the application form.

The final assessment vote is expressed in 110th with eventual mention of praise.

The final vote is based on the average rating of the interim modules assessment that will be calculated with a simple arithmetic average.

The THESIS elaboration and dissertation and final assessment are the last activities of the MSc Programme.

During the Thesis elaboration the Student has to implement the project work, personally elaborated, designing new Building or Urban area according to the Principles of Sustainable Architecture, to practically implement the acquired knowledge and skills. The Thesis provides the perfect opportunity to put into practice and present to the experts’ commission what MSc Student has learned during the Modules’ Lectures, Design Workshops and Internship experience. During the case study projects elaboration, students are supported by on-line tutors. The final assessment (thesis dissertation) is the presentation and discussion of the project-work, evaluated as final exam of Master Programme. The graduates will spend their expertise to develop and present more attractive sustainable building plan, analyzing and evaluating the building performance, as well as the building environmental quality assessment, according to the international rating systems.

 

Aims

The THESIS elaboration and dissertation aims to give Students a deep personal design experience, stimulating their capacities in every step in developing an integrated project process. They will consolidate the skills to plan and manage architectural projects reflecting functional, technical, environmental, and aesthetic considerations while also appreciating the pragmatic aspects, including scheduling, cost estimation, and construction administration.  

 

Knowledge and Understanding Skills

The students will be able to put into practice their knowledge experimenting the architectural design process, investigating the concept of new sustainable and responsive architecture of the future.

They will be able to implement their teamwork capacity and professional growth, experimenting how the innovative green technologies, renewable energy, natural material could influence energy performance.

  • Final Module Exam: presentation and discussion on the Elaborates realized during the Internship period

The achievement of credits is subject to passing examinations to verify the profit, with a vote expressed in 30/30 and possible mention of praise.
