Scientific Directors

Imane Bennani - Ecole Supérieure d'Architecture | UIR Université Internationale de Rabat

Before becoming director of the School of Architecture of Rabat at the International University of Rabat, Imane Bennani held several strategic positions. She was first a Research Professor at ENA, Wali Consultant in Rabat for the assembly of Rabat's registration file on the World Heritage List; Counsellor to the Minister of Habitat and Urban Planning and finally Project Manager with the Director General of Architecture and Urbanism and Project Manager at Enda Maghreb.

 

Debora Giorgi - Department of Architecture (DIDA) | University of Florence

Co-director of post graduated Master SUArch, Sustainable Architecture and Smart Cities, Special edition in Morocco, UIR Université Internationale de Rabat; PhD, Architect, Associate Professor of Industrial Design at the Department of Architecture, University of Florence. For more than 20 years, she has been working on projects as an expert and project manager in Ethiopia, Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco, Yemen, Jordan, Haiti, with the most important national and international institutions World Heritage Fund - UNESCO, UNCCD, World Bank, European Commission, World Monument Fund, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation - MAECI, etc; Long experience with the South of the World with direct experience in Maghreb and Mediterranean countries in the social field by promoting projects and workshops of Social Design using the methodologies of co-design. Since 2022 she is the President of the three-year degree course in Textile and Fashion Design; Co-director of REI Design Laboratory - Reverse engineering & Interaction Design at the Department of Architecture and the Science of Made in Italy Laboratory at PIN - Polo Interuniversitario Città di Prato.

 

 

Technical Scientific Coordinators

 

Antonella Trombadore - Department of Architecture (DIDA) | University of Florence

Technical coordinator of post graduated Master SUArch, Sustainable Architecture and Smart Cities, Special edition in Morocco, UIR Université Internationale de Rabat; Architect, Phd, Associated Professor of Architectural Technological Design, Environmental Design and Innovative material and LCA for Fashion System Design at the DIDA Department of Architecture - University of Florence, where she is actually director of the interdisciplinary laboratory beXLab (building environmental eXperience) un the framework of international project MedEcoSure; Expert in the field of Green Buildings, NZEB, Resilient Cities, Adaptive Design, Bioclimatic Strategies, Energy Efficiency in Public Buildings in the Mediterranean context, deriving from the 20 years of research in the Interuniversity centre ABITA, where she also taught at the II level Master. In 2010-2016 coordinated the management of the research project ABITARE MEDITERRANEO. From 2017 she is contract expert of the EU Commission REA as evaluator of Horizon 2020, ENI MED and INTERREG IT_FR. In the last 15 years, she worked with a wide range of public administrations and other on innovative research projects (i.e. Foster in Med, Vivimed and Teenergy Schools).

 

Youssef El Ganadi - Ecole Supérieure d'Architecture | UIR Université Internationale de Rabat

Architect and PhD in Smart Cities. Professor at the International University of Rabat. In 2022 becomes president of the international bS chapter (buildingSMART Morocco) and from January 2023 is scientific coordinator of the Master international SUArch (sustainable Architecture & Smart Cities).
